Welcome to my site. I am a social scientist conducting research on American politics and mass political behavior with a focus on race and ethnic politics, class and economic inequality, and urban politics and policy. My research utilizes quantitative methods, including survey research and the design and analysis of original laboratory, survey, and field experiments.
I live in Los Angeles, CA and am currently an Associate Professor in the School of Public Policy and Department of Political Science at the University of California, Riverside. I am also a Faculty Affiliate at the Robert Presley Center for Crime and Justice Studies. Previously, I was an Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut and lived in New York City. I am 100% the product of public education: I received my PhD in Political Science at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and my MA and BA from Sonoma State University. I grew up in Las Vegas, NV where I attended public schools from K-12.
